Resolving Injection Molding Machine Mold Locking System Issues: Essential Skills
(1)Failure to Lock Mold Solution: 1) Check the travel switch in front of the safety door and repair if necessary. 2) Inspect the 24V5A power supply inside the electrical box, replace fuses and the power supply box. 3) Check if the valve core is stuck and clean it if necessary. 4) Check if there is output from the I/O board and if the solenoid valve is energized. 5) Check if the hydraulic safety switch is pressed and if the mechanical locking rod plate is open.
(2)Noise During Mold Opening and Closing Solution: 1) Check if the lubricating oil pipe is disconnected, if so, reconnect it properly. 2) If the lubricating oil level is low, increase it; it is recommended to lubricate every 50 molds or manually add sufficient lubricating oil. 3) If the mold locking force is too high, lower it accordingly. 4) If there is erratic current adjustment on the amplifier board, readjust the current values to meet the acceptance criteria. 5) Check for excessive parallelism; use a dial gauge to check if the parallelism between the head and the second plate exceeds the acceptance standard, and adjust if necessary.
(3)Delay in Mold Opening Solution: 1) If the startup speed is slow, check if the screw damping is too high and adjust the screw damping hole accordingly. 2) If the damping screw hole is too large, check if the Y-hole screw damping is too large, and replace it with a screw damping pin with a smaller center hole.
(4)Crawling During Mold Opening Solution: 1) If there is significant wear on the second plate guide rail and column, inspect and replace the second plate bushing, column, and apply lubricating oil. 2) If the mold opening speed and pressure are improperly adjusted, when setting the flow to 20 and the pressure to 99, the second plate should not crawl during mold opening. Adjust the flow control valve or pilot valve accordingly and adjust the linear current value of the proportional valve. 3) Presence of air or air exhaust in the pipeline and cylinder.
(5)Failure to Open Mold Solution: 1) Increase the mold opening speed; if the pressure and flow rate are too low and not properly adjusted, check if the mold opening speed and pressure are appropriate, increase the mold opening pressure and speed. 2) Check if there is a change in the zero position of the mold locking electronic ruler; after straightening the mold locking machine, whether it stops at the zero position, and readjust the zero position of the electronic ruler if necessary. 3) Check for reverse hinge.
(6)Adjustment of Mold Tightness During Automatic Production Solution: 1) If there is leakage in the mold adjustment solenoid valve, check if the solenoid valve is of the "O" type, model 4WE6E or 0810092101; replace the solenoid valve or check if it carries 24V when not working. 2) Check if there are any mold adjustment actions when manually performing other actions, and observe if the valve is stuck.
(7)Gradual Mold Opening During Other Actions After Mold Locking Solution: 1) If there is leakage in the oil plate, check or replace the quick mold locking valve and replace the oil plate. 2) If there is leakage in the mold opening valve, start the oil pump and lock the mold; during the actions of the injection table or injection, observe if the second plate moves backward and replace the mold opening valve. Normally, the mold should remain locked.
(8)Only Mold Opening Action During Mold Locking Solution: 1) Check for wiring errors; check if there is 24VDC to the valve, inspect the wiring and make connections. 2) If there is a stuck valve or incorrectly installed valve core, check if the valve core is incorrectly installed or blocked; reinstall the valve core or clean it. Normally, during mold locking, the mold opening action should not occur.
(9)Mold Locking Not Smooth Solution: 1) Improper adjustment of A and B orifices; when setting the system flow to 20 and the pressure to 99, observe if there is any crawling action during mold locking; readjust or replace the valve. 2) Presence of air in the oil circuit; listen for air in the oil circuit, check for air bubbles in the oil, and bleed the system if necessary. 3) Improper adjustment of the ramping of the amplifier board; observe the change in current value on the ammeter during the lifting or lowering, or whether it is proportional to the speed; adjust the amplifier board accordingly.
(10)Failure to Achieve High Pressure During Mold Locking, Exceeding Stroke Solution: 1) Limit switch exceeds the limit; check if the mold adjustment is appropriate, adjust the appropriate mold thickness, and check if the motor is in normal condition. 2) Hydraulic limit exceeds the stroke; check if the position of the electronic ruler is appropriate, check if the mold adjustment is appropriate, and adjust the mold appropriately forward.
(11)Manual Mold Termination, No Mold Termination in Semi-Automatic Mode Solution: 1) If there is a leak in the mold opening valve, observe if the second plate moves backward after manually performing the injection table action, and replace the mold opening valve. 2) Check the maximum stroke and pressure flow of the electronic ruler.
(12)No Ejection Pin Action Solution: 1) Faulty ejection pin limit switch; check with a multimeter if the 24V proximity switch lights up. Replace the ejection pin limit switch. 2) Stuck valve; check if the ejection pin valve core can move with a hex key and clean the pressure valve. 3) Broken ejection pin limit rod; after shutdown, manually remove the limit rod by hand and replace it. 4) Short-circuited ejection pin switch; check with a multimeter if the ejection pin switch has 0 voltage to ground and replace it. 5) Improper setting of the electronic ruler position.
(13)Loss of Control of Ejection Pins in Semi-Automatic Mode Solution: 1) Faulty ejection pin board; check if the wiring is normal and the voltage is normal, DV24V. Repair the ejection pin board. 2) Broken wire; thoroughly check the switch connection wires, I/O board connection wires. Check the wiring and reconnect. 3) Check for mold misalignment. 4) Damage to the sealing ring on the cylinder piston rod.
